Who will go to heaven?

There is no more important question you will face in your life than this one. Will you be among those who will enjoy eternal peace?
Jesus tells us that not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but rather those who do His will will enter (Matt. 7:21). But what is His will for you, in regard to salvation?
First, it is God’s will that we believe in Jesus as the Son of God (Matt. 16:16-18), God in the flesh (John 1:1,14). Jesus says that unless we believe this, we will die in our sins (John 8:24).
Next, it is God’s will that we repent of our former sinful lives, and turn to Him. He has commanded men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). Jesus says that unless we are willing to repent, we shall perish (Luke 13:3).
Jesus also says that we must confess Him publicly before men. If we do this, He will confess us before His heavenly Father! If we refuse to confess Him, He will not confess us before His father (Matt. 10:32-33).
Finally, in regard to salvation, it is God’s will that we be baptized into Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). Jesus Himself commanded baptism (Mark 16:16) and it is part of making disciples of Christ (Matt. 28:19). Once a believer has been baptized, he or she is added to the church (Acts 2:47) and is an heir to the promise (Gal. 3:26-29).
It is my hope and prayer that you have done these things that are required by God’s will. If you have not, and are interested in learning more about God’s plan of salvation and the church that Christ built, you can learn more by clicking here.
